Graduate Student Committee and Assembly

Graduate Student Committee

The Religious Studies Graduate Student Committee (GSC) hosts social events and professional development opportunities throughout the year and provides fora for graduate students to meet, share ideas and concerns, and make the most of their academic, social, and professional life at Yale. These include monthly Teaching Fellow Lunches, a pre-SBL/AAR forum for practicing talks and receiving feedback, CV/cover letter workshops, happy hours, and game nights.

The GSC also facilitates graduate student input in departmental life and represents student interests within the department by serving as a bridge between the faculty and the student body.

All graduate students are eligible to serve on the GSC, following an annual election, and there is no limit to the number of members. Graduate students with questions about the GSC or departmental life or ideas for additional programming should reach out to the GSC members.

Graduate Student Assembly

The Religious Studies Department has two Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) representatives, who liaise between the GSA, GSAS, and students within the department.
