Vanna Qing

Vanna Qing

Vanna’s work pays attention to thought and position in the languages of religious philosophy and theology. Comparative thought matters to her. She is interested in the inevitabilities and ends comparison sees, as it encounters architectures of metaphysics, abundances of interpretation and moods of intellectual engagement, or in other words, the affective textures of a comparative moment. She thinks with the styles and forms of reasoning, and with the complexities and imperatives of understanding.

Outside of writing, Vanna has enjoyed learning about acting, interviewing, and collages. She has been a Chinese classical dancing dancer, soprano singer, a short filmmaker, and a performance art practitioner. Prior to this moment, Vanna has received a BA in East Asian Studies and Religious Studies at New York University, and a MAR in Asian Religions at Yale Divinity School.
