Noah studies the Hebrew Bible and its component literary works. His research sits at the intersection of historical and literary criticism, focusing on issues such as character building and characterization, compositional history, Judean scribal activity, narratology, fictiveness, and comparative ancient Near Eastern literature. He is especially interested in the character of the deity in non-Priestly Pentateuchal literature.
Noah holds a B.A. in English from Columbia University and an M.A. in Religion from the University of Chicago Divinity School.
