James is a Ph.D. Student in Religious Studies and Black Studies. He is interested in the various relationships between belief, governance, and race, particularly as they attend to questions of legitimacy, authority, and violence in the ongoing structuring of the United States regime.
James holds a BA in Sociology from Harvard College, an MDiv from Harvard Divinity School, and a JD from Harvard Law School.
