The Opening Convocation will take place virtually on Monday, August 31st on the YDS YouTube page from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Chloë Starr, Professor of Asian Christianity and Theology, will discuss Matthew 13:1-17. Also participating are Awet Andemicael ’10 M.A.R., the newly appointed Associate Dean for Marquand Chapel (Invocation); Gabrielle Thomas, Lecturer in Early Christianity and Anglican Studies (Scripture reading); and Essence Ellis ’21 M. Div. (Benediction). Nathaniel Gumbs, Director of Chapel Music, will play organ, and Dean Sterling will give a welcome.
