On March 8th, 9th, and 10th, Yale Divinity School will host the biannual Nathaniel W. Taylor Lecture in Theology. This year’s lecturer is Daniel Boyarin of the University of California at Berkeley, whose three-part lecture will address “The Quest of the Historical Metatron.”
Daniel Boyarin is the Hermann P. and Sophia Taubman Professor of Talmudic Culture in UC Berkeley’s Departments of Near Eastern Studies and Rhetoric, and an affiliated member of the Department of Women’s Studies.
After earning his doctorate from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in 1975, Dr. Boyarin taught at that institution, as well as Ben Gurion University, Bar-Ilan University, and, for several years, in Near East Language and Literature at Yale, before joining the Berkeley faculty in 1990.
If you cannot attend in person, you will find the lectures available online on the YDS Livestream page.
