Yale Camerata and Yale Glee Club join together with orchestra to present a concert on Sunday, February 11. Yale Camerata will perform Adolphus Hailstork’s Arise, My Beloved, Joan Szymko’s Arise My Love, Douglas E. Wagner’s The Lake Isle of Innisfree, and Shawn Kirchner’s I Will Arise and Go. Yale Glee Club will perform the Mass No. 1 in C Major by Marianne Martínez. The concert concludes with a performance of José Maurício Nunes Garcia’s Te Deum, featuring the combined forces of both ensembles. The concert will be conducted by Felicia Barber and Jeffrey Douma.
Yale Camerata is a seventy-voice vocal ensemble whose members are Yale graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, staff, and experienced singers from the New Haven community. Conducted by Dr. Felicia Barber, the ensemble performs a widely varied spectrum of sacred choral literature, with a special commitment to choral music of our time. The ensemble was founded in 1985.
The Yale Glee Club is Yale’s principal undergraduate mixed chorus and oldest musical organization, having just concluded their 162nd season. The Glee Club is conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Douma.
