Award-winning religion writer Jonathan Merritt will be at Yale Divinity School on Thursday, November 8th, at 5:30 PM in Niebuhr Hall to discuss his newest book, Learning to Speak God from Scratch: Why Sacred Words Are Vanishing—and How We can Revive Them (Convergent, 2018).

The holder of a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Theology from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, Jonathan is contributing writer for The Atlantic and contributing editor for The Week. His media appearances include ABC World News, NPR, CNN, PBS, MSNBC, Fox News, CBS’s “60 Minutes,” and The New York Times. In addition to his new release, he is the author of the critically acclaimed books Jesus is Better Than You Imagined (2014), Faith of Our Own: Following Jesus Beyond the Culture Wars (2012), and Green Like God: Unlocking the Divine Plan for Our Planet (2010).
